MicPlot — Privacy Policy

Effective 6 October 2026 (visit statistics added) · Applies to the MicPlot web app, the installed (Home Screen) version, and the MicPlot apps for iOS, Android, macOS and Windows.

MicPlot is made by Losch Recording, LLC (Texas, USA), which is responsible for this policy. MicPlot is a tool for planning orchestral recording setups. It is designed to work entirely on your device. This page explains the few cases in which any data leaves it.

What stays on your device

Your sessions — microphones, positions, names, gains, notes, seating layouts, stage dimensions and settings — are stored only in the app's local storage on the device you use. Files you export (app files, JSON backups, CSV lists, PNG images) are created on the device and go wherever you choose to save or share them. MicPlot has no user accounts and never uploads your sessions.

AI import — the only network feature

When you press Analyse in AI Import, the photos, video frames or documents you selected for that analysis are sent to a vision model so it can locate microphones and seating. Nothing is sent until you press Analyse, and only the items you added. Depending on the access mode you chose in Settings:

The relay stores a per-device usage counter keyed by a random device code; it does not store your images, results or any personal information. The random device code, the chosen model, your stage dimensions.

Anthropic's handling of API inputs is described in their privacy policy and usage policies; API inputs are not used to train their models by default.

Device code

In MicPlot Cloud mode the app generates a random identifier (a UUID) and keeps it on the device. It lets the relay count your monthly allowance and lets you ask for more allowance or support without creating an account. It is not linked to your name, email, Apple ID, Google account or device identifiers, and you can reset it at any time by clearing the app's data. The relay also notes, once a month, that a device code checked its allowance, so we can count how many devices use MicPlot each month; that note holds nothing else and expires after about 70 days.

Website visit statistics

The micplot.com website and web app use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits: which pages were viewed, the referring site, and the browser and country in aggregate. It sets no cookies, uses no persistent identifiers and does not track you across sites; Cloudflare describes it in its documentation. Your sessions, plots and imported files are never part of it. The installed apps for iOS, Android, macOS and Windows don't include it.

Purchases

MicPlot Pro bought on the web is sold by our reseller Paddle.com, the Merchant of Record: Paddle collects your name, email, payment and billing details under its privacy policy and handles payment, tax and refunds. MicPlot never sees your card. Paddle tells MicPlot's relay only that a subscription is active, which plan, until when, and the anonymous device code(s) it covers — that is all MicPlot stores. Purchases made through an app store are processed by Apple, Google or Microsoft under their terms, with the same anonymous entitlement passed to MicPlot.

What we don't do

Fonts

The web version loads two typefaces from Google Fonts when a connection is available. Your browser sends Google the usual request information (IP address, user agent). The app works without them; the installed apps bundle no remote fonts.

Children

MicPlot is a professional tool and is not directed at children under 13. It collects no personal information from anyone.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, the effective date above changes with it and the app's release notes will say so. Questions: brian.losch@gmail.com.
